Apart from the classes in the regular mode the department resorts to regular seminars, tutorials, remedial courses. It is also done through Charts, Models, Seminars, Group Discussions and tutorials.

Participation in ISR and Extension activities . The department of Home Science is enriched with the majority of students which is a large proportion of students in the institution. Most of the students are actively participated in Institutional social responsibilities and extension activities like NSS, NCC, Sports and cultural and other activities.

STRENGTH:

1. The department is enriched with well qualified, dedicated, diversified and experienced faculty teachers with specialization in different areas to cater the needs of the students.

• The teachers of the department are actively engaged in research activities.

• Faculty with willingness to take challenging assignments.

• Feedback from the students is targeted for teaching-learning evaluation, teachers facilities support services and overall learner centric issue.

• Parent Teachers Association and our Alumnae are active group to appraise the functioning of department.

WEAKNESSES:

1. Our Department feels shortage of supporting staffs and teachers.
2. Lack of enriched laboratory and library.
3. Lack of English communication skill is the major setback of the student group.
4. Aptitude for higher learning is poor.

OPPORTUNITIES:

1. Very scoring subject for exams.
2. Staff strength and enterprising nature is a strong opportunity.

CHALLENGES:

1. Integration of subjects with the emerging environment that is applicable of the subject with industries and social life.
2. Lack of motivational condition and early marriage are the major challenge faced by the college.

FUTURE PLAN:

1. To organize national Seminar.
2. Introduction of a certificate course in food preservation.
3. To offer subject related survey programmes to the students.
